Get your feline to the vets ASAP if he or she exhibits these signs:
- dry hair coat
- cries listlessly
- resents or resists handling
- drinking excessive amounts of water or not drinking the usual amount of water
- excessive urination or straining to urinate
- repeated vomiting
- blood in urine
- failing to use litter pan
- prolonged or severe diarrhea
- chewing skin, hair coat or extremities.
- yellowing of the white around
- hiding for more than 24 hours
- loss of appetite
- dull look to the eyes
- yellow gums
- rectal temperature over 103 degrees
Temperature above 106 is life threatening and requires immediate attention!
To test for dehydration, pick up a fold of skin in the middle back area and then release it. Normally the skin will snap back. If it falls back slowly or remains up, dehydration is present. Immediate veterinary care is recommended to determine the cause of the dehydration and to institute re-hydration process.
Healing Panleukopenia
In the summer of 2005, Thumbelina's babies suddenly came down with Panleukopenia (Distemper) when Teddy first contracted the virus. Other strays traveling across the grounds had deposited the virus in the grass, but the excessive heat wave we endured that year enabled the virus to multiply unusually fast. Having an unawareness of how persistent this virus was, I inadvertently tracked it into the Starkitty quarters and infected my main crew. Suddenly half of my Starkittys were stricken and the entire kitten crew was falling fast. I learned a few amazing facts about the virus very fast and was forced to make decisions medically on the fly.
There is a standard treatment veterinarian’s across the globe use and that is called a 'vaccination'. Nowadays, for efficiency purposes, doctors have created government approved concoctions of a variety of cat diseases and rolled them into 'package vaccinations' that your pet gets when he is taken in for checkups. These package deals include feline respiratory illnesses, distemper and rabies - all rolled into one convenient dosage. The government has made getting vaccinations a law, and when one views this practice from a societal level - it seems to be the only thing to do in order to keep diseases from becoming epidemics.
Here's where the cracks in the 'societal system' fail our beloved pets. Long term research via holistic pioneers in the alternative medicine industry are beginning to bring forth exasperating information regarding the 'toxic effects' that occur when pets become vaccinated with such viral mixtures and concoctions. Many become sick and die from allergic reactions to the virus material that is injected into their bodies. This causes suffering including, swollen throat, foaming, listlessness and finally seizures caused by the body's own immune system that has been shocked into handling a multitude of viruses all at once. Ironically, the vaccinations have not been not fully proven to prevent anything.
In the case of the Starkittys vs. Panleukopenia, clear evidence shows that vaccinated cats are just as prone to contract the very disease they have been vaccinated against, as non-vaccinated cats.
Panleukopenia is nationally touted as THE most fatal cat disease known to mankind. Almost every article existent on healing a cat or dog from this virus documented in resource guides, the internet or medical journals, warns of the very high fatality rate regarding this disease. Yet strays and ferals across America have managed to get this disease and survive it sans human interference. Were it so fatal a contender to the cat population as humans state repeatedly that it is - it would have long ago wiped out the entire community of strays and ferals, as strays cannot breed as fast as the virus takes a cat down.
In the case of the Starkittys, the most disturbing aspect of the reality of vaccine non- effectiveness, is that several of the cats who were vaccinated came down with the disease and several of the non vaccinated felines were able to stave off any symptoms at all. Here's the breakdown of what occurred:
Case Subject 1, Teddy - the first to exhibit symptoms was swiftly taken down in a matter of hours by the virus. Upon first noticing that he was listless and quiet (unusual for his personality) he was immediately tested and proved positive for the virus. By then the virus was quietly incubating in the other kittens as well. Teddy's white blood cell count registered at barely 600. Normal lo-end white blood cell range in felines starts at 18,000. Within hours, Teddy, was gravely ill. This is how fast the virus works. This is the danger zone whereas, if it is not immediately diagnosed, a cat has a rare chance of receiving the necessary sub fluids and medications that are absolutely necessary to successfully fight off the invading virus.
By the time Teddy's condition was medically diagnosed, I had also tracked the silent killer all throughout my home via the soles of my shoes. The entire Starkitty crew became exposed to the virus, even though the batch of strays had never come into physical contact with any of the Starkittys. Clorox is the only known agent that will effectively kill the Panleukopenia virus. Unfortunately, I learned this too late in the game. While I immediately placed all cats on a supply of children's Echinacea to help boost their natural immune systems, the virus had by then, already taken hold in their bodies. Despite a four day vigil with Teddy, he succumbed to the virus.
Case Subject 2 & 3, Sahara and Sufi - simultaneously came down with symptoms two days after Teddy was stricken. I separated them immediately from Sabrina, their mother and father in hopes that the adults would be able to stave off the virus and hopefully, Sabrina might be strong enough to combat the virus if not constantly surrounded by it via the other two. Unvaccinated because they were initially so young before they'd contracted the virus, they were strictly treated round the clock on sub fluids, Echinacea; high grade wet food mix and Slippery Elm when the vet’s said it was hopeless. After two full rounds of the virus ravishing their bodies, Sahara and Sufi survived. Sufi has a weak leg due to damage to his nervous system but is otherwise healthy.
Case Subject 4, Sabrina and Thumbelina – neither the mother nor her second daughter succumbed to the virus although they were fully exposed to it. Neither were vaccinated as Thumbelina was a feral who was caught only by the mere fact that she had birthed her babies in a container in my garage. Her daughter Sabrina was playmate to Teddy, Sufi and Sahara.
Case Subject 5, Thunder – Though Thunder was completely exposed, he had been vaccinated. It was assumed he was protected through vaccination.
Case Subject 6, Newt - my full grown indoor cat Newt became violently ill and was hospitalized on round the clock IV drip for three solid days. He contracted full symptoms and hung on the edge of life for several days. He was sent home on day four to either die or pull through. Newt was treated holistically exactly the same way the two kittens were. He survived. Newt had been vaccinated against distemper and acquired it ANYWAY.
Case Subject 7, Other Starkittys - Of the rest of the Starkittys, several exhibited signs of bloody stools and fever. All had been vaccinated except for one. The unvaccinated exhibited no signs whatsoever.
In channeling the cats afterward as to why the virus appeared and why only certain cats got it, here was the answer from the cats:
Distemper is a virus of low vibration. Due to the enormous heat wave of that summer, many lower level viruses were able to flourish abnormally. This was in part due to seasonal global warming where temperatures of the last few seasons have fluctuated greatly. Due to imbalances in the weather, viral strains can be triggered to ‘come alive’ and can wreak havoc. So an otherwise normal dropping of the virus by roaming stray cats in the yard might not be able to spread in other years, this season, it was able to grow and spread very fast.
Teddy contracted the virus first and in attempting to help keep his siblings from the virus, he consciously attracted the frequency to his body, so as to process most of the damaging effects thru his own system. Unfortunately, he misinterpreted the vile nature of the virus and realized too late that he could not stop it from ravishing the family. His attempt in pulling the vibration to his body ultimately proved too much for him in the end.
Sabrina had a stronger DNA constitution, like her mother and was able to withstand the viral attack for her immune system was very strong.
Sufi and Sahara were not able to avoid taking on some of the illness, but were spared in part because of the degree of virus Teddy had pulled away from them.
Thunder, though completely exposed to the virus, stated that his body constitution if very hearty and very strong. He states that in part, it is because he is from another star system whereas body frequency can easily burst apart lower level viruses. He is simply built differently vibrationally, than most other Starkittys.
Newt, sensing the virus got in the house, chose consciously to take on the virus as he stated that some of the other Starkittys, of lighter vibration and particularly the white cats were not prepared to bodily handle the attack. His system, since he had been wild animals of Earth before (wolf and other like woodland species in past lives), was more suitable in vibrational nature to weather the virus.
We need not fully believe in aliens or fully comprehend the depths of psychic-science research to understand the very simple fact that what lies beneath our physical bodies, is energy. Energy can take on different frequencies. Viruses and illnesses tend to be of low frequency range. If one can't quite believe that, one might consider that cell phones and radios exist because of frequency differentials. How is it that humans can so easily believe in the toys they play with but have great difficulty understanding the vibrational nature of Earth's healing herbs and plants?
Certainly, it is a thing for each of us to ponder.
